A Lavaca alderman said Thursday that he did not put up a defense to four misdemeanor offenses for which he was convicted in Greenwood District Court Wednesday because he wanted a jury trial on the charges in Sebastian County Circuit Court. “We will put up... a full defense and Mr. James’ innocence will be shown at final trial,” according to a statement from Jack James’ attorney. the James, 52, was convicted Wednesday in Greenwood District Court of three counts of attempted sexual indecency with a child and one count of harassment.
